Privacy: what you send us, and what we do with it

Your first message tells us your phone number, your name if you give it, and the three facts we ask for: headcount, dates and route. That is all the booking needs to start, and we do not ask for passport details in it.

Later in the booking you send more. The name list, as printed on passports or ID, goes to us about a week before sailing. You will also tell us about diets, mobility, ages of children and who sleeps where. Some of that is private. Send only what the trip needs.

Never send a card number in a message. Not once. Payment details come on an invoice, and the payment channel handles the card. If someone asks you for a card number on a chat, stop and write to us on an official number.

The reservation team at Komodo Explorer reads your messages. The boat team receives what it needs to prepare the trip: the headcount, the names, the diets and the pickup times. The park authority receives the names it needs for entry.

We do not sell your details. We have not set a fixed number of months in this notice. We hold your messages as long as the booking and our accounts need them, and no longer than that.

A message that never turns into a booking is a quiet case, and the same rules apply: we read it for the enquiry and for nothing else. We hold it only while it is useful, and you can ask us to erase it sooner.

Ask for a copy of your details, for a correction, or for erasure. Write on WhatsApp from the same number you used, and say which of the three you want.

Some records stay, such as invoices and payments, because our accounts and tax rules need them. We tell you which ones when you ask, and we erase the rest.

If you send us something by mistake, say so. We remove it from the booking file. Group leaders carry other people's data, so a leader who spots an error in a name, a date of birth or a diet should also tell the person it concerns. Then send us the corrected version, so the park tickets and the boat's list match.
