Sebayur: the fourth-day stop

Updated 8 November 2026

Sebayur for groups is a snorkel stop on day three of the sample 4D3N charter of Arfisyana, followed by a free afternoon. It is not on the standard 3D2N route. The captain finalises the order of stops with you, by weather and flights.

Sebayur: a snorkel stop on the sample 4D3N only

Sebayur is not on the standard 3D2N. It appears on the sample 4D3N charter only, and this page says so first so nobody books the boat for it by mistake. The island is the bigger of the Sebayur pair and lies near Flores. Beaches and nearby reefs make it a snorkel stop, not a dragon stop, since it lies outside the trekking area.

Distance is the reason. From Labuan Bajo the boat needs between ninety minutes and two hours, which is why a fourth day buys the stop. Without that extra day the standard route has no room for it.

Treat Sebayur as a sample stop, not a promise; the table that follows lists it as the route does.

Sample 4D3N, third day: Sebayur, then a free afternoon

On the sample, days one and two follow the standard 3D2N: Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong, then Padar through to Manta Point. Day three is Sebayur: a snorkel in the morning and the afternoon free. Day four is Kanawa and the quay.

This is a sample route, so the final order is something you settle with the captain, weather and flights permitting. A spare day also gives the schedule a cushion, since a rough morning can push a stop to the afternoon without costing you the stop.

A free afternoon is a gift to the group and a small headache for the leader. Plan it. One hour on the beach, one swim, one quiet hour with no programme. Without a plan, twenty people will make four.

Reef and beach: what to expect from the water

Sebayur's reef is shallow to moderate, from two to about ten metres, and the current is mild. It suits snorkellers of every level, so the whole group goes in together, from the confident adult to the cautious child.

The beach is a place to swim from the sand. Snorkel gear is on board, and weak swimmers wear a life jacket from the boat. Pair everyone, and count as usual.

Where the boat anchors is the captain's decision and which reef is best on the day. A calm morning gives the group the most water time, while a windy one moves the snorkel to the lee side of the island. Either is a decision for the water, not the schedule.

Why Sebayur sits outside the standard 3D2N

The standard route is the one that two independent sources agree on, and its nine stops do not include Sebayur. So Sebayur is not a standard stop. It is a bonus of the longer charter, and this page is the place that says so.

If your group wants Sebayur, choose the 4D3N and treat Sebayur as the third-day plan. The fare for four days is a whole-boat fare by band, and the per-head sum is on the 4D3N page.

If your group has only three days, you lose nothing that the standard route promises. The big names are already on the 3D2N. Padar and the Komodo Island walk are there, and so are the reefs and the beaches.

FAQ

Which stops change if we pick the four-day charter?

Sebayur joins on day three, with a free afternoon, and Kanawa moves to day four. Days one and two follow the standard 3D2N. Because the 4D3N is a sample route, the captain finalises the order with you by weather and flights, and the spare day can absorb a change in the weather.
