Park package per head for a group: who pays, when, how much

Every guest pays a park package, and it is never inside the boat fare. The package is the Komodo Explorer park package per head, and it depends on the trip type: one, two, three or four days, and foreign or Indonesian guest. The table below prints the amount for each.

Inside the package sit the park's own entrance tickets: IDR 250,000 for a foreign visitor, then IDR 50,000 for an Indonesian visitor, and at weekends IDR 75,000. Ranger services and local levies sit inside as well. The package line is the number to quote the group, not the ticket line.

Who pays, and when: every guest, on top of the boat share, and we ask you to collect it with the name list about a week before sailing. Do not count it into the fare when you split the boat. Keep it as its own line in your sheet.

Infants up to age 2 sail free. Ask us how the park package treats them, and we answer in writing.

One package covers the government entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024), the ranger fee and the local levies. It is quoted per guest and paid on top of the boat price, unless your quote says it is included. For other trip lengths, the desk quotes the package with your booking.

Calculator: park package per head across 1, 2 or 3 days

Use the calculator below for your own group. It covers parties of 2, 4 and 10 over 1, 2 or 3 days, so you can see how the package grows. It grows with the number of heads and the number of days, and nothing else.

To read it for 20 guests, take the row nearest your group and scale it. The package is a per-head figure, so 20 guests of the same mix pay twice the 10-guest row, and the boat fare does not enter the sum at all. Foreign and Indonesian guests pay different amounts, so split your name list by passport before you multiply.

A worked habit for the group leader: build a sheet with one line per guest, the boat share, the park package and the deposit paid. Total the last column before the first message goes out. Twenty rows, three columns, and no argument at the quay.

The boat share per head comes from the group charter page, and the tokens there change when the band changes. The park package does not.

Cash to carry: park package, tips and small purchases

Bring cash for three things. First, anything the park or the stops charge that you did not pre-pay. Second, tips. Third, small purchases: a drink on a beach, a souvenir on a stop, a snack at the airport.

Tips are not included in the fare, and they are optional. Many groups pool a tip for the crew at the end of the trip, and one person hands it over with a short thank-you. We set no fixed amount per day and no rate per guest. A pool of what the group can comfortably give, handed over in an envelope on the last morning, is the usual form.

The park package is not part of the cash question if you pre-pay it with us. That is the easy route for 20 guests, and we recommend it. Paying on the spot means small change and a leader counting notes.

Keep the cash dry. A zip bag in the daypack is enough, and a card does not work on a beach.

Park closures and visitor limits: check them before you fix the date

Park closures and visitor limits belong to the park authority, not to us, and they change. The park manages daily visitor numbers; our journal note dated 8 November 2026 reports the daily cap as the park office and the press published it. Any closure or limit is checked against official sources when you give us dates, and this page is stamped 8 November 2026.

Verify before travelling. Look at the park authority's own notices in the week before you fly, and ask us for our latest written check. A group of 20 should not rely on a page that is a month old, ours included.

A visitor limit matters to groups in one way: the date. A popular date is the one that fills first, so a group that has fixed its dates early has a better chance of keeping them. Book the date, then pay the deposit, then wait for the notices.

If the park closes a stop or the whole park on your dates, we move the date with you or refund according to the booking terms, and we say which applies in writing.

FAQ

Does the boat fare cover the Komodo park fee, and what cash do we carry?

No. The park package per head is paid on top of the boat share, by every guest. Pre-pay it with us and you need no cash for the park. Bring cash for tips and small purchases only. The amount for each trip type is on the park table below.

What does the park entrance cost for foreigners and for Indonesians?

Today the park's own tickets cost IDR 250,000 for a foreign visitor, while an Indonesian visitor pays IDR 50,000, or IDR 75,000 at weekends. The package you pay with us also covers ranger services and levies, and it differs by trip type. Quote the package, not the ticket.

Is Komodo closed in 2026, and does the visitor limit hit groups?

The park manages daily visitor numbers, and our journal note dated 8 November 2026 sets out the reported cap with its sources. The park authority sets and changes closures and caps, and we check official sources when you give us dates, as of 8 November 2026. Verify before travelling. Groups should fix their date early, because a date secured is a date protected.

Does the daily visitor limit change how we book a big group?

It changes when you book, not how. Fix your dates early, send the headcount and the name list on time, and pay the deposit, which holds the boat. The daily visitor cap is covered, with dates and sources, in our journal note of 8 November 2026. The park authority sets it, and we check its notices for your dates.
