Komodo 3D2N itinerary for groups, day one: quay, Kelor, snorkel, Kalong at dusk

This is Arfisyana's standard route, the one two independent listings agree on. Labuan Bajo to Labuan Bajo, two nights aboard, nine stops.

Meeting point: your hotel or the airport, agreed with us the day before, between 10:00 and 11:00. The boat sails at 11:00. Count heads at the quay, and count them again at the tender.

The first afternoon starts on Kelor, a short hill walk with a view over the water. Pace: easy, with a water break at the top. Then the boat moves on to Manjarite for the first snorkel, where the group tries the gear in shallow water before anything deeper. Sunset comes at Kalong, and the bats leave the mangroves in the last light while the group stands on the sun deck.

Dinner is at anchor. The chef cooks, the captain picks the anchorage by weather, and the group sleeps aboard in the five cabins.

These stops swap order with tide and wind: Manta Point ⇄ Taka Makassar.

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.

Day two is the long day: Padar, Pink Beach, ranger walk, two snorkels

Day two is the long day, and it is the reason the group came. It starts before sunrise at Padar.

Pace: the climb takes 30 to 45 minutes, so rise early, wear shoes with grip and carry water. The path is narrow, and 20 guests go up in a line. Sunrise from the top is why the climb starts when it does, and the walk down is quicker. Breakfast follows aboard.

Next stop Pink Beach, with time for a swim and a snorkel. Then Komodo Island for the ranger walk: closed shoes, a hat and the ranger's instructions followed to the letter. Lunch is aboard, then a snorkel at Taka Makassar, and last Manta Point, where the current decides whether mantas show.

So Padar, Pink Beach, Manta Point and Komodo Island itself are all on this route. Anyone who asks whether the trip reaches them gets a plain yes.

Day three: Kanawa snorkel, then the quay near 12:00

Day three is short and wet. Breakfast aboard, then a last snorkel at Kanawa before the boat turns for the quay.

The boat returns to the quay in Labuan Bajo near 12:00. That figure is a plan, not a guarantee. The sea, the wind and the tide can shift it by some time either way, and the captain does not push a landing to hit a clock.

Pack the night before. Bags go to the sun deck at breakfast, wet towels hang to dry and nobody waits for a cabin to empty on the last morning. A group of 20 loses half an hour to bags if it does not agree a drill beforehand.

Pickup back to the hotel or the airport is included. We agree the drop-off point with you before sailing.

What the 3D2N costs for the boat, band by band

One fare covers the whole boat, set by the headcount band. The table below gives all five bands for the three days, with each guest's share at the top of every band.

Beside the boat fare you still pay the park package per head, tips, flights and hotels. Alcohol is not part of the fare either. A guide and documentation can be added on request, with a written quote, and a card payment adds 3 percent.

Pay 50 percent to hold your dates; the balance is owed 30 days ahead of sailing. The booking terms page has the cancellation bands. There is no fuel line and no cabin supplement: the beds, the meals and Arfisyana's crew are all inside the figure.

17–20IDR 70,000,000 (≈ USD 4,294)IDR 3,500,000

Per head for three days: 20 guests, 16, 12 and 8

Each guest's share is the fare divided by the headcount you will actually have. The part worth explaining to the group is the band step.

At 13 guests the share is IDR 5,000,000 (≈ USD 307). At 12 guests it is the same figure, because 12 sits at the top of the cheaper band and 13 at the bottom of the next. The thirteenth guest moves the whole boat up a band, and the share stays where it was. The fourteenth brings it down again.

Park package per head comes on top of every share. Add it before you tell the group a total, so the number you announce is the number that stays. The group charter page gives the share at every headcount, for all four routes, in one table.

Round trip from Labuan Bajo: pickup 10:00–11:00, back near noon

You leave from Labuan Bajo and come back to Labuan Bajo. The boat runs the nine stops and returns to the same quay, so a one-way crossing to Lombok is not part of this charter.

For your flight home: the trip ends near 12:00 on day three, so book a departure for the late afternoon or the evening. Twenty guests with bags need that margin. A morning flight on day three does not work.

For the start: pickup is between 10:00 and 11:00, and the boat sails at 11:00. Arrive the day before. The exact pickup time and the driver's contact reach you in writing the day before sailing.

Longer or shorter plans use the same boat. The 2D1N and 4D3N pages show the sample routes, the hotels page covers the night in town, and the group leader's day-one guide runs the first hours in detail.

FAQ

How many days does a group need for Komodo?

Three days and two nights is the standard route, and the one that reaches all nine stops. The 2D1N compresses it and drops Komodo Island and Kanawa. The 1D and 4D3N are sample routes. Choose by the age of the group, the budget and how much hiking the group will accept.

Does the 3D2N loop back to Labuan Bajo, or end in Lombok?

It is a round trip. The boat leaves Labuan Bajo, visits nine stops and returns to the same quay near 12:00 on day three. There is no Lombok leg on this charter, and we do not sell one.

Is Manta Point on the 3D2N, along with Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo Island?

Yes, all four. Padar comes at sunrise on day two. That same day goes on through Pink Beach, Komodo Island with its rangers, Taka Makassar and Manta Point. Rinca is on the one-day sample route only, not on this one.

What time is the quay reached on day three, and when can we fly?

The boat is back at the quay near 12:00 on day three. Book a flight after that and leave a margin, because sea and tide can move the landing. For 20 guests with luggage, the afternoon or the evening gives the most comfortable gap.
