Arfisyana Indah Phinisi

One day on a wooden phinisi, back at the quay before dark

Updated 8 November 2026

Komodo one-day group boat trip on Arfisyana: a sample route that strings together Kelor, Rinca and Manjarite, with lunch aboard and the quay reached before sunset. The whole boat costs IDR 40,000,000 (≈ USD 2,454) for 1-4 guests and IDR 60,000,000 (≈ USD 3,681) for 17-20, so 20 guests pay IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) each, park package extra.

Komodo one-day group boat trip: a sample route for 20

This is a sample route. The rate card prices one day on Arfisyana, and this is the day we plan for a group of 20. On the day, tide or weather can reshuffle the order, and the captain has the last word.

The sample runs Kelor, Rinca and Manjarite. First comes pickup, at a time we fix with your charter date and flights. Then a hill walk on Kelor, a ranger walk on Rinca, lunch aboard and a snorkel at Manjarite. By sunset the boat has you back in Labuan Bajo.

Treat the order as the plan. The captain sets the clock with you once the date and the flights are known, and the written pickup time arrives the day before.

Day 1

What happensHave ready
Labuan Bajo — Pickup from your hotel or the airport; the time is set with your charter date and flightspassport or ID

Ranger walk on Rinca Islandclosed shoes, hat and water

Times are operating patterns, not a timetable. Pickup is the only promise we make by the clock.

Back before sunset: why a phinisi day ends early

A wooden phinisi cruises at 7–9 knots, and a day charter has to leave time for landings, lunch and a swim. So the day closes in daylight, at the quay, and the group walks off in sunlight with its shoes in hand.

Light also decides the matter. Near the equator the sun drops fast and dusk is short. Putting 20 guests ashore from a tender after dark is a risk we do not take, and on the water the captain's word decides.

The practical result for you is simple. A one-day trip is built around the middle of the day: walks in the morning when the heat is lower, lunch on board, a snorkel after lunch and the run home. Nobody sleeps aboard, so nobody needs a bunk, and the rooming plan for 20 does not apply to this page at all.

Phinisi day or speedboat day: a 07:00 start against your own time

Speedboat days are a different product, and this site does not sell them. Speedboat trips leave around 07:00, with hotel pickup between 06:00 and 07:00, and cover Padar to Manta Point in a long day that returns about 16:30. If that is the trip you want, ask Komodo Explorer on WhatsApp.

The phinisi day starts when you agree and ends before sunset. The route is shorter, with Kelor, Rinca and Manjarite, and the boat is yours alone. Lunch is served in the covered saloon, and the group sets its own water break.

The honest trade: a speedboat reaches more stops in one day. A phinisi reaches fewer and keeps the group together on its own deck. For a class, a team or a family that wants to stay in one body, the second is easier to manage. For a fit group that wants Padar in a single day, the first is the better tool.

The one-day fare, by group size

One-day fares belong to the boat, and the band depends on the headcount. The table below gives all five bands, with each guest's share at the top of every band.

Outside the fare, as on every route: the park package per head, tips, flights and hotels. Alcohol is not part of the fare. Guide and documentation are on request, quoted apart. Pay by card link and add 3 percent.

A one-day charter is not cheap. The fare is a whole-boat fare, and a small group pays a lot per head for one day. It becomes reasonable only when the boat is nearly full, which is why the share at 20 is the figure to plan around.

1D · per boat
Guestsper boatper person

5–8IDR 45,000,000 (≈ USD 2,761)IDR 5,620,000
9–12IDR 50,000,000 (≈ USD 3,067)IDR 4,170,000
13–16IDR 55,000,000 (≈ USD 3,374)IDR 3,440,000
17–20IDR 60,000,000 (≈ USD 3,681)IDR 3,000,000

One day, shared out: each guest's cost for 20, 16, 12 or 8

Each guest's share is the one-day fare divided by the guests you have. The step at a band edge is the sum to watch.

A group of 16 pays IDR 3,440,000 (≈ USD 211) each. The seventeenth guest moves everyone into the 17-20 band, and each of the 17 then pays IDR 3,530,000 (≈ USD 217). Three more guests after that bring every share down to the full-boat figure. Count carefully before you invite the seventeenth, and ask us what the band changes.

Cost per head, here and everywhere on the site, leaves out the park package, which each guest pays on top. Add it to the share before you tell the group a total. A figure that grows afterwards is the quickest way to lose the trust of a class of 20.

Hotel pickup, and where your flights fit a day charter

The pickup point is your hotel or the airport, and the time follows from your charter date and flights. The day before, the pickup time and the driver's phone number reach you in writing.

Flights come second. A day trip ends before sunset, so a flight the same evening is possible only with a wide margin, and we would not plan it for a group of 20. Sleep one night in town and fly the next morning.

Arrive the day before the trip as well. A one-day charter has no slack. If a late flight cuts the day short, the group sees half of Rinca and none of Manjarite, and the fare stays the same.

The 3D2N page has the standard route if you want more days. The comparison page says which length suits which group.

FAQ

Is there a one-day speedboat that leaves at 07:00 instead?

Yes, speedboat day trips leave around 07:00, with pickup between 06:00 and 07:00, and run from Padar to Manta Point. That is a different product, sold by the seat on other boats. This site sells the phinisi day for your whole group. Ask Komodo Explorer if you want the speedboat day.

When does a one-day trip end, and can we fly out that evening?

Expect the quay again before sunset. A flight the same evening leaves almost no margin for 20 guests with bags, so we advise against it. Better to stay a night in town and fly out next day. A late-evening flight works only if you tell us first.

What time is pickup, and how do we reach the driver?

The time is set with your charter date and your flights. The pickup time and the driver's phone number come to you in writing the day before. Hotel or airport pickup in Labuan Bajo comes with the charter in both directions, and the meeting point is agreed with you.
