Komodo private charter itinerary options for groups: 1D, 2D1N, 3D2N and 4D3N on Arfisyana
Updated 8 November 2026
For most groups the 3D2N is the right length. It is the one Arfisyana route set out in full, and at 20 guests the whole boat costs IDR 3,500,000 (≈ USD 215) each. The 1D, 2D1N and 4D3N are priced too, from IDR 40,000,000 (≈ USD 2,454) for a day, but they run on sample routes that the captain settles with you.
Four trip lengths and one way to price them
Every itinerary on Arfisyana is sold as a whole boat, priced by headcount band. The table gives the price of the boat for a large group and the share per head at three sizes, each our own division rounded to the nearest 10,000 rupiah.
| Trip | Whole boat, 13 to 16 guests | Whole boat, 17 to 20 guests | Per head at 12 | Per head at 16 | Per head at 20 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1D | IDR 55,000,000 (≈ USD 3,374) | IDR 60,000,000 (≈ USD 3,681) | IDR 4,170,000 (≈ USD 256) | IDR 3,440,000 (≈ USD 211) | IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) |
| 2D1N | IDR 62,500,000 (≈ USD 3,834) | IDR 67,500,000 (≈ USD 4,141) | IDR 4,790,000 (≈ USD 294) | IDR 3,910,000 (≈ USD 240) | IDR 3,380,000 (≈ USD 207) |
| 3D2N | IDR 65,000,000 (≈ USD 3,988) | IDR 70,000,000 (≈ USD 4,294) | IDR 5,000,000 (≈ USD 307) | IDR 4,060,000 (≈ USD 249) | IDR 3,500,000 (≈ USD 215) |
| 4D3N | IDR 72,500,000 (≈ USD 4,448) | IDR 77,500,000 (≈ USD 4,755) | IDR 5,620,000 (≈ USD 345) | IDR 4,530,000 (≈ USD 278) | IDR 3,880,000 (≈ USD 238) |
Look down the last column. Going from a day trip to three nights adds less per head than most groups expect, because the boat is the cost and the days are the margin.
One honest limit before the routes. Only the 3D2N route is set out in the boat's own programme. The other three are sample routes built from the same islands; the captain sets the final order with you, by weather, tide and your flights.
1D: Kelor, Rinca and Manjarite, home before sunset
The day trip is the short answer for a group that has a conference, a wedding or a flight the next morning. The pickup time is set with your date and your flights.
Sample route: a hill walk on Kelor, then a ranger walk on Rinca, lunch on board, a snorkel at Manjarite, and back in Labuan Bajo before sunset.
Pace: Kelor is short and steep, so climb slowly, keep the group together and take a water break at the top. Rinca is flatter and slower, behind a park ranger, in closed shoes.
Cost per head at 20 guests is IDR 3,000,000 (≈ USD 184) for the boat. The park package for a day trip is quoted with your date. A wooden phinisi is not the fastest way to see a lot in one day, and we would rather say so here than on the water. Choose the 1D for the deck, the company and one good snorkel, not for Padar and Komodo together.
2D1N: one night at anchor, Padar at sunrise
Sample route, day 1: pickup, lunch on board, Kelor walk, snorkel at Manjarite, sunset and flying foxes at Kalong, dinner on board. The boat stays at anchor overnight; the captain chooses the anchorage with the weather.
Day 2: Padar at sunrise, Pink Beach, a snorkel at Taka Makassar and at Manta Point, then back to Labuan Bajo the same day.
Komodo Island itself is not in this sample, which surprises some groups. Two days hold the views or the dragons comfortably, rarely both, and Padar wins the vote in most groups. If the dragons matter more to your group, say so and the captain can trade a stop.
The share per head at 20 guests is IDR 3,380,000 (≈ USD 207). This length suits company teams on a long weekend and alumni groups who can only agree on two days off.
3D2N: the route on the boat's own programme
This is the itinerary Arfisyana prints, and the one we recommend to most groups.
- Day 1: pickup from your hotel or the airport between 10:00 and 11:00, sailing at 11:00. Kelor walk, snorkel at Manjarite, sunset at Kalong.
- Day 2: Padar at sunrise, Pink Beach, a ranger walk on Komodo Island, then Taka Makassar and Manta Point.
- Day 3: a snorkel at Kanawa, back in Labuan Bajo around 12:00.
Pace: the Padar climb takes 30 to 45 minutes on steps and dust. Start in the dark with a torch and a full bottle each, and stop halfway for a water break and a headcount. Sunrise on Padar is around 06:14 in June and 05:31 in November, so the wake-up call is early.
At 20 guests the boat costs IDR 3,500,000 (≈ USD 215) a head before the park package. Book flights home after 14:00 on day 3.
4D3N: a slower middle day for mixed groups
Sample route: days 1 and 2 follow the 3D2N. Day 3 is lighter, with a snorkel at Sebayur and free time on board. Day 4 brings Kanawa and the return to Labuan Bajo around midday.
The extra day is not for more islands. It is for the people in your group who walk slower, swim less or need a nap after Padar. Families of three generations, school groups with younger students and any group with more than a few first-time snorkellers do better on four days than on three.
The share per head at 20 guests is IDR 3,880,000 (≈ USD 238), against IDR 3,500,000 (≈ USD 215) on the 3D2N. Put differently, the fourth day adds the gap between those two figures to each share, and buys a whole day of slack. Longer charters than four days are on request, quoted with your dates.
A day on board with 20 people
Whatever the length, the days on Arfisyana run to the same rhythm, and a group leader who knows it can keep 20 people on time without shouting.
Meals come from the boat's chef: breakfast, lunch and dinner, served in the covered saloon at the two long tables. Drinking water, tea and coffee are there all day. Snorkel gear, life jackets and towels are aboard, so nobody needs to rent them in town.
Landings go by tender. The speedboat runs the group from the boat to the beach in turns, and back. Count heads on the beach before the tender leaves, and count again on deck. It takes a minute and it is the habit that matters most.
Between stops the sun deck fills up. Bean bags and lazy chairs, little shade at midday, so hats and sunscreen. Water break: every hour in the sun, whether people feel thirsty or not.
Evenings are at anchor. The captain picks the anchorage with the weather, and the boat stays there until morning. Lights out is the group's rule, not the crew's, so set it on day 1.
Which length for which group, and the park package on top
- School or study-tour group: 3D2N. Padar, the dragons and two nights of supervision is plenty.
- Company team: 2D1N for a weekend, 3D2N if the trip is the reward.
- Three generations: 4D3N, for the slow day.
- Alumni or community group: 3D2N, the length most members can take off work.
Add the park package per head to every option; the figures for the 3D2N and 4D3N are below. A guide and photo or video documentation are not included on a private charter and are quoted on request.
No route can promise wildlife or weather. The mantas come or they do not, and the captain may swap the order of stops to keep the group safe and on time.
| Trip | Foreign guest | Indonesian guest |
|---|---|---|
| 3D2N | IDR 650,000 | IDR 350,000 |
| 4D3N | IDR 750,000 | IDR 350,000 |
One package covers the government entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024), the ranger fee and the local levies. It is quoted per guest and paid on top of the boat price, unless your quote says it is included. For other trip lengths, the desk quotes the package with your booking.

FAQ
How many days do you need in Komodo with a group?
Three days and two nights covers Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island and two snorkel stops at a pace most groups can hold, and it is the one route set out in Arfisyana's own programme. Choose four days if your group has elders, young children or many first-time snorkellers, and one day only if your calendar leaves no choice.
Is a 2D1N trip enough to see Komodo dragons?
On the sample 2D1N route, no: it takes in Padar, Pink Beach and the reefs instead. If the dragons matter most to your group, tell us when you book and the captain can swap a stop for Komodo or Rinca. Something else drops out to make room, and we tell you which before you pay.
Can our group change the route?
On a private charter, yes, within what the weather and the park rules allow. The start and finish times can follow your flights, and the captain agrees the order of stops with you. Day trips can be shaped around your group too. Ask before you book, so the quote matches the route.
Are manta rays guaranteed at Manta Point?
No. Mantas are wild animals and nobody can promise them. Manta Point is on the 2D1N, 3D2N and 4D3N routes, and the captain times the stop as well as the day allows. The sighting itself is luck, the tide and the season.
